Frequently Asked Questions

How often should my tank be cleaned?

Most freshwater tanks need maintenance every two weeks. Larger tanks or tanks with messy fish may need it more often. During your consultation, we will recommend a schedule based on your tank size, fish type, and filtration setup.

Do you clean tanks that haven’t been maintained in a while?

Yes! Deep cleanings are common and completely normal. If your tank has extra algae, cloudy water, or hasn’t been cleaned in a while, we can setup a plan to bring it back to a healthy environment with a thorough deep clean. He will let you know if additional visits are recommended to stabilize the tank.

Do you help set up new tanks?

Yes! Scales and Tails offers tank setup services for brand new systems and upgrades to larger tanks. There is literally a science to help setup your fishy friends for success and we want to help you do just that!
